An evacuation watch along Chena Hot Springs Road near Fairbanks has been moved.
The evacuation watch for Two Rivers and Pleasant Valley residents between milepost 16 and 27 has been lifted and is now in place between mileposts 27 and 39, according to the Alaska Interagency Coordination Center.
The evacuation watch moved due to active and uncontrolled fires threatening the area. The Chena River State Recreation Area is closed.
The Fairbanks North Star Borough Evacuation Animal Shelter will stay open until all livestock, poultry, and pets are retrieved. The shelter is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
