Early enrollment for new students to the Anchorage School District is now open.
Parents new to the school district may enroll their children from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the ASD Education Center, located at 5530 E. Northern Lights Blvd.
Parents will need to bring proof of residency, current immunization records of their child or children, and the children who are enrolling in school. Parents will also have the chance to speak with ASD staff about nursing services, counseling, bus transportation and more during enrollment.
The early enrollment sessions began Wednesday. Another session will be held Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additional support for military families will be provided on Saturday.
These early enrollment opportunities are for students who have never attended an ASD school. Returning students to Anchorage schools and kindergarten students will register during the week of August 5.
More than 300 families attended last year's early enrollment event.
