Alaska State Troopers say two Washington passengers seriously injured in a Southeast Alaska plane crash Wednesday have been taken to Seattle.
The de Havilland Beaver operated by Ketchikan-based Promech Air was piloted by 65-year-old Charlie Kenlin of Florida. The passengers are Washington residents, 37-year-old Martin Lakey, 65-year-old Michael Lakey and 65-year-old Rich Webster.
A spokeswoman says both Lakeys are in the intensive care unit, listed in serious condition at Seattle's Harborview Medical Center. Information about the other two men, initially reported to have suffered minor injuries, wasn't available.
All are expected to survive the crash Wednesday on Prince of Wales Island.
The crash triggered an emergency locator beacon. Promech Air personnel also called received radio communication from the pilot who said the plane's engine was failing.
A Coast Guard helicopter picked up the men.
