The Coast Guard says all recoverable fuel and oil have been removed from a 77-foot integrated tug and barge that went aground this week 60 miles southeast of Cordova.

Lt. Allie Ferko says in a statement Saturday that 1,740 gallons of diesel fuel and 225 gallons of hydraulic and other fluids were recovered from the Hook Point-Alaganik.

No fuel sheen on the water has been reported. The Guard says that with the threat of pollution removed, crews are working to determine how to remove the vessel from the beach.

Its two crew members were conducting tsunami debris cleanup when bad weather hit Wednesday and caused the vessel to turn broadside into ocean waves. The vessel was lifted up, and then came down on a large piece of river ice, causing the tug and barge to separate. Both washed on shore. Neither crew member was injured.
