A North Pole woman was critically injured when her pickup truck flipped and crashed Sunday evening, according to Alaska State Troopers.
In a Monday AST dispatch, troopers say they were informed just before 11:40 p.m. Sunday of a rollover crash near the Chena Lake Recreation Area, involving a 2006 Dodge Ram truck driven by 34-year-old Nicole Crites.
"Crites appeared to be driving at a high rate of speed when she drove off the road and into the ditch," troopers wrote. "The vehicle flipped and collided with a tree at the wood line."
Medics initially took Crites to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
AST spokesperson Megan Peters says further information on the crash is being gathered Monday morning.
"She's been transported to Anchorage for treatment," Peters said.
Troopers aren't sure whether drugs or alcohol were involved with the crash, which remains under investigation.
