It's only August but some people have dog mushing on their minds.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports13 mushers have signed up for the 2014 Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race.
Saturday was the first day to sign up for the annual race between Fairbanks and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
Nine Alaskans including 2013 champion Allen Moore of Two Rivers have entered the race.
Four Canadians also entered.
The race is scheduled to begin Feb. 1 in Fairbanks. Race officials say the minimum purse will be $115,000.
