A Colorado-based construction and engineering firm is closing its office in Kenai.
CH2M-Hill told workers last week that the office will be sold or closed in 60 days.
Director of operations and maintenance Denis LeBlanc tells the Peninsula Clarion that CH2M Hill needed to close the Kenai operation because the volume of work did not justify keeping it open.
The closure affects 65 employees.
LeBlanc says the company has 1,300 people in its North Slope operation and it does the same thing as the Kenai unit but on a larger scale.
