A Wasilla man has been hospitalized in Seattle after Alaska State Troopers say witnesses saw his pickup truck roll over at least twice early Saturday morning on the Parks Highway.

According to an AST dispatch late Tuesday, troopers responded at about 1:10 a.m. Saturday to Mile 50 of the highway, where a Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by 49-year-old James M. Reed had sustained moderate damage after leaving the road.

"The driver of the Ford had been passing a slower moving vehicle when he lost control on the wet roadways," troopers wrote. "During the rollover (Reed) was ejected from the vehicle as he was not wearing his safety belt."

Troopers say Reed's injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, but he has been flown to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.

According to AST speed and alcohol are both factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by troopers' Bureau of Highway Patrol.
