A Fairbanks man responsible for a crash that killed two people and injured two others has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Paul Kirsteatter reached a plea agreement in May that called for a guilty plea to two counts of manslaughter and two counts of felony assault.

Prosecutors say Kirsteatter early April 7, 2012, crossed the centerline of Nordale Road with his three-quarter-ton pickup and crashed head-on into a compact car.

The crash killed the car's 22-year-old driver, Colton Fettig of Corvallis, Ore., and 22-year-old Jordan Boggs of North Pole.

Two other passengers, 18-year-old Gerald Noy and 20-year-old Hannah Gustafson, both of Fairbanks, were injured. They were returning from an outing at Chena Hot Springs.

Kirsteatter's blood alcohol was measured at .229 percent, nearly three times the legal limit.
