The owner of an interior Alaska wind farm has filed a complaint against a Fairbanks-based rural utility, claiming the power cooperative is not negotiating in good faith to buy power generated by wind turbines.

Alaska Environmental Power owner Mike Craft in an announcement says Golden Valley Electric Association has presented purchase terms so unreasonable that they have the effect of rejecting the purchase from the wind farm near Delta Junction.

Alaska Environmental Power now sells less than two megawatts to GVEA but wants to build turbines to generate 25 megawatts.

GVEA chief executive Corey Borgeson disputes the informal complaint filed with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska.

He tells the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that GVEA has spent thousands of dollars responding to the wind farm proposal and has never stopped negotiating.
