Victims of Alaska's spring floods have additional time to apply for federal disaster assistance and loans.
Victims now have until Sept. 25 to apply for disaster grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and physical-damage loans from the Small Business Administration.
The old deadline had been Monday of this week.
People still have until March 25 to submit applications for SBA economic injury loans.
The agencies stepped in to help after the flooding in parts of Alaska were declared a federal disaster by President Barack Obama. The declaration makes funding available for emergency work and repairs.
In Galena, as many as 300 people were evacuated because of flooding. The flood was caused by a Yukon River ice jam in May that backed water into the community of about 500.
