A Petersburg school administrator has been named Alaska's 2014 Superintendent of the Year.
The Alaska Association of School Administrators announced the honor for Robert Thomason on Thursday.
According to a release, Thomason has served in the Petersburg school district since 2009. He previously was superintendent at the Nenana City School District.
The association says the Superintendent of the Year award honors school leaders who exemplify effectiveness, knowledge, leadership, ethics and commitment.
