Alaska State Troopers are investigating the Tuesday death of an Aleknagik man after a boating collision in the Dillingham area.
AST spokesperson Megan Peters says 41-year-old John Tugatuk Sr. was wounded in the incident Tuesday morning and received treatment, but later died of his injuries.
"Apparently, boats collided and (Tugatuk) got a nasty injury and wasn't able to survive it," Peters said.
Troopers are taking over an investigation from another agency which was first informed about the case, and are still gathering details on what happened.
