UAA announced late Thursday night that it would suspend its quest to hire a hockey coach. The decision comes in the wake of public scrutiny over the university's handling of the hockey program, including the assembling of a search committee comprised entirely of UAA employees.
"We are committed to getting this right," said Tom Case, UAA Chancellor. "We plan to restructure the search committee and review the job criteria to ensure that we are choosing from the most robust possible pool of candidates."
UAA recently hosted Michael Corbett, Damon Whitten, Chris Brown, and Gary Heenan for on-campus interviews where each finalist met with UAA alumni and the public.
