[UPDATE 8:21 a.m.] Anchorage Police officials found "peaceful resolution" to a hostage standoff that began Thursday evening with the arrest of a man who had barricaded himself inside an apartment complex.
Initial reports indicated the man, identified as 35-year-old Jeremiah Hancotte, had barred himself inside the apartment with a woman and an infant and was making threats to them.
Anchorage Police officials have stated there were no injuries at the time of the man's arrest.
Hancotte is charged with kidnapping, two counts of third-degree assault, one count of fourth-degree assault, one count of reckless endangerment, and counts of third- and fourth-degree misconduct involving a weapon. These charges are in addition to the charge of first-degree criminal impersonation.
[UPDATE 11:43 p.m.] Anchorage police spokesperson Jennifer Castro says police initially received a call just after 8 p.m. Thursday of a man threatening a woman inside a unit in an apartment complex along the 800 block of West 11th Avenue.
