Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks are asking for the public’s help in locating an Arizona man who hasn't been seen since Dec. 14.

Troopers say 66-year-old Keith Stompro was checked into Pike’s Waterfront Lodge on Dec. 10. He was scheduled to stay a few days, but on Dec. 20, hotel personnel contacted Alaska State Troopers to report that no one at the hotel had seen him in days.

Stompro’s personal belongings and valuables were found in his room. Troopers believe he has been in Alaska since the beginning of November, when they say he rented a car in Anchorage and eventually headed north toward Fairbanks. While en route, his rental car collided with a herd of caribou on the Parks Highway near Cantwell on Dec. 10. The crash totaled the car, but Troopers say he still managed to find a ride to Fairbanks and check into the Pikes hotel later on that day.

Stompro is described as 5 ft., 9 in. tall, weighing 165 pounds, with hazel eyes and graying brown hair. Any information on Stompro, or information leading to his whereabouts, can be shared with Fairbanks state troopers 907-451-5100.
