Fairbanks City Hall will have a new name. The city council on Monday unanimously voted to rename it Patrick B. Cole City Hall in honor of the longtime public servant. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports Cole worked for the city for more than 40 years. He was the city's chief of staff when he died of complications of a heart transplant in November at the age of 63. Cole worked on city business from his Seattle hospital bed up to the day of his surgery.
