Anchorage firefighters quickly extinguished a flaming pile of Christmas trees in a parking lot off Northern Lights on Thursday.
Fire dispatchers responded around 4:48 p.m. to an outdoor fire in the parking lot of the Carrs-Safeway in the Aurora Village Shopping Center on west Northern Lights Boulevard.
Firefighters were on the scene within ten minutes. Fire dispatchers say the blaze, described as a “minor fire,” was under control and extinguished in about 15 minutes.
There was no indication that the fire was arson, and no fire investigators have been contacted for the incident, dispatchers said.
There were no reports of injuries or property damage.
