Family members say a Soldotna man who died earlier this month had the H1N1 strain of influenza. State officials say it's the state's third fatality this year linked to the strain, also known as swine flu. The other two were in the Interior and Southcentral. The Peninsula Clarion reports officials wouldn't confirm the man's identity. However, the family of 49-year-old Robert Suder said autopsy results showed he tested positive for H1N1 influenza, which progressed to pneumonia. He died Jan. 11 after returning from a trip to Phoenix. Suder's mother, Barbara Gunsolus, says he went to work one day after returning, and then called in sick. He was diagnosed with bronchitis after complaining of a sore throat and congestion. His mother found him dead at his home three days later.
