The death of a person in Mountain Village, reported early Wednesday, is under investigation by Alaska State Troopers.
According to a Wednesday AST dispatch, troopers were informed of the incident at about 6:15 a.m.
“Troopers from St. Mary's, along with investigators from the Alaska Bureau of Investigation and a State of Alaska crime scene technician, have responded to investigate the cause and circumstances of the death,” troopers wrote.
AST spokesperson Megan Peters says no other details on what happened are immediately available Wednesday, pending arrival of the investigators in Mountain Village.
The identification of the deceased is being withheld pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
