A 38-year-old passenger on an overnight flight from Tokyo to New York was arrested at Anchorage’s airport early Monday, after the All Nippon Airways plane was diverted due to a disturbance in the cabin. A brief statement from the FBI’s Anchorage office Monday morning names the arrested passenger as Nobuya Michael Ochinero, who was taken into custody with assistance from police at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Kevin Donovan, the FBI's assistant special agent in charge of the Anchorage office, didn’t provide specifics Monday morning about the case against Ochinero, but says no hijacking threat or threat to public safety occurred on board Flight 010. A flight status page on ANA’s website indicates that the plane landed in Anchorage at 12:40 a.m., taking off for New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport again at 4:45 a.m. “This flight diverted to Anchorage airport due to cabin unruly behavior,” ANA officials wrote in notes on the flight. Donovan says Ochinero is being held at the Anchorage Jail, with charging documents expected to be filed Monday afternoon.
