Gov. Sean Parnell is in New York meeting with banks and rating agencies about Alaska's budget and economic outlook.
Parnell spokeswoman Sharon Leighow says the discussions are routine and focused on what Parnell is doing to position the state for long-term growth.
She said in an email that infrastructure projects, like the proposed gas pipeline and Susitna-Watana hydro project, and a plan to deliver gas to parts of Interior Alaska are of particular interest to the banks.
She says discussions with rating agencies have included updates on recently passed bills to overhaul Alaska's oil tax structure and advance an in-state gas pipeline and Parnell's plan to limit spending and keep Alaska in a sound fiscal position.
Parnell is accompanied by Revenue Commissioner Bryan Butcher and Deputy Revenue Commissioner Angela Rodell.
