Anchorage Fire Department units safely extinguished a South Anchorage carport Tuesday night. AFD dispatchers weren’t able to provide further details about the fire, with initial reports coming in at about 10:40 p.m. on the 10200 block of Jamestown Drive in the Independence Park area. According to crews at the scene, one vehicle was initially ablaze, with another vehicle and the carport also catching fire. Firefighters were able to rapidly put out the flames, with only the first vehicle to burn suffering damage. Channel 2's Kenny Knutson contributed information to this story.
