State officials have announced new summer hours for the visitor center at the Independence Mine State Historical Park.
The visitor center will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
Guided walking tours are set to take place three times each afternoon.
Access by vehicle will be open between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on those days.Officials say the gate on the one-mile access road to the mine will be closed at all other times, including Mondays and Tuesdays, but the park will remain open to pedestrian use.
Officials say the access road is still closed because of deep snow conditions.
