Those in Anchorage hoping to celebrate the fourth of July should head downtown for a day full of patriotic festivities.
At 8 a.m. on the Delaney Park Strip, the celebration starts off with a pancake breakfast. Food, vendors, games, rides, and obstacle courses will be available at the park strip festival, as well as Independence Day-themed events, like a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 1 p.m.
The Delaney Park Strip festivities will continue until the park closes at 6 p.m.
The annual Fourth of July parade will begin at 11 a.m. on H St. and W. 9th Ave. Roads will be closed in the area. The parade will travel west down W. 9th Ave, making a loop around the park strip, and ending back on H St. and 9th Ave.
Hoping to catch some fireworks in town? After the annual Anchorage Glacier Pilot-Anchorage Bucs doubleheader, Anchorage's biggest fireworks display will begin at midnight.
The Glacier Pilots-Bucs baseball game starts at 9:30 p.m. at Mulcahy Stadium.
