Anchorage police say a woman suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her knee Saturday morning in Mountain View.
Around 4 a.m., police received a call of three young males arguing on the 100 block of N. Klevin Street and moments later, a multiple gunshots were reported from the caller.
At 4:05 a.m., a man reported to police dispatch that his wife had been shot in the knee and that a bullet entered his apartment on the 4100 block of Peterkin Ave. Police say she was sleeping in her bed when she was shot.
"When police responded, they discovered a bullet hole in the bedroom wall of the second-story apartment under the south facing window," Jennifer Castro, police spokesperson, wrote in a news release. "Several shell casings were found outside on the street in front of the apartment building."
As of Saturday afternoon, no suspects have been identified or located in connection with the shooting.
Police say, "other subjects in the area reported seeing two vehicles, a dark jeep and a white car, driving down Klevin Street just before the shooting, however it is unclear if the vehicles were directly involved in the incident."
