A driver of a semi-tractor seeking gasoline drove into a set of fuel pumps at a Fairbanks gas station but no fuel was spilled.
Fairbanks Police Department Lt. Dan Welborn tells the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (http://bit.ly/ZQ6Jgq) that the big truck broke pipes inside the units at a station in south Fairbanks.
He says the pump units are made to break away without creating a spill and they worked as designed when the truck hit them Friday morning.
Police say damage to the pumps is estimated at $26,000 to $30,000.
