Fairbanks areas residents can learn about preparing for a disaster at a one-day Preparedness Expo at the end of the month.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports the event is scheduled for Sept. 28 at the Carlson Center and is part of National Preparedness Month.
The event will touch on fire prevention, family emergency communication plans and backup food supplies.
Exhibits will address backup power generators and weather warnings.
The event is sponsored by local municipalities the University Fire Department, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and the Fairbanks Host Lions Club.
