A 30-year-old Palmer man has been charged with stealing a safe that contained $12,000.
Alaska State Troopers say Craig Dunyon was arrested Sunday,
Troopers say they took a call just before 8 a.m. that someone had broken into a home off Bodenburg Loop and taken the safe with the cash.
Also missing were several checks and a gun.
Troopers contacted Dunyon and arrested him on one count of burglary, six counts of theft and counts of criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
Troopers say he had heroin and cocaine with him and he also was charged with drugs misconduct.
He was jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
