An Anchorage man will serve 14 years in a federal prison for possession and intent to distribute methamphetamine. The U.S. attorney's office says in a release San Chiam Saechao was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Anchorage. He also will forfeit two vehicles and nearly $9,000 in cash that authorities say he obtained in the drug trafficking scheme. Prosecutors say he began trafficking meth in September 2012 and included a package he received last January containing more than 1.8 kilograms of meth. Judge Sharon Gleason said during sentencing that she found it disconcerting that he trafficked the drugs from his home, where multiple young children were present. He earlier pleaded guilty to the charge.
