In celebration of Flag Day, the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce held its 18th annual military appreciation picnic.
At both Paxton Park and the Buckner Physical Fitness Center on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, the chamber served up a Friday lunch to thousands of service members and their families.
The picnic volunteers included 150 members of Anchorage's business community.
In addition to lunch, they had children's activities like face painting and games, as well as live music and Arctic Warrior Olympics.
The Chamber says that the picnic is their way to say 'thank you' to members of the military and more than 4000 people attended.
