Members of the public are being asked by Anchorage police for more information about a shooting outside a Downtown bar early Saturday that injured three men.

In a Monday statement, APD spokesperson Dani Myren says all three victims in the shooting -- men in their early twenties -- were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition, following officers' response to the Anchor Pub and Club at 712 W. 4th Ave. shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday.

"According to witness accounts, it appears a verbal argument between two subjects standing in the crowd in the vicinity of the Anchor Pub following bar-break culminated when one of the subjects produced a handgun and started shooting," Myren wrote. "Video surveillance is being collected from surrounding businesses and the Anchor Pub, and will be analyzed for possible leads."

Police had reported a large crowd gathered around the victims when officers arrived, with some interviewed witnesses saying the suspect was an adult black man. Anyone with information on the shooting or the suspect is asked to call APD at 786-8900 or Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP.
